2 Quick Apply Full-time 4 hours ago Full Job Description Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Standards in the Kreher Family Farms' processing plants, and ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, FSIS, Eggland's Best, the National Organic Program, and SQF requirements.
This includes training and monitoring in accordance with company policies, government regulations, and customer specifications, monitoring the standards of work of each department, problem-solving, and recommending approaches for improvement.
The Director, Food Safety and Quality Assurance is responsible for managing Quality Assurance Managers, Quality Assurance Technicians, and custodians at all farms.
Monitors and has knowledge of the Ovotrack traceability program.
The Director, Food Safety and Quality Assurance must be knowledgeable about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations including:
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Standards set by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
Standards set by the FDA in the Prevention of Salmonella Enteritidis in Shell Eggs During Production, Storage, and Transportation.
Food Safety Inspection Services standards for refrigeration and Food Defense.
Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance in a food processing plant.
SQF Practitioner and HACCP certified.
Food Defense Trained.
Internal Audit certified.
Trained in Mock Recalls.
Experience in conducting Root Cause Analyses.
Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures.
Experience in writing/training and evaluating Good Manufacturing Practices.
Have knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
Experience conducting audits, and working with auditors.
